We have a couple of Ten to Follow selections running for us tomorrow at Newbury in Thistlecrack and The Druid's Nephew who takes his chances in the Hennessy.
Thistlecrack makes his seasonal debut in a small but select field going in the 14.25 Long Distance Hurdle and is up against both the reigning World Hurdler Cole Harden (a top antepost touch for us at Cheltenham!) and the smart Whisper from Nicky Henderson's yard. I'm guessing Colin Tizzard wants to see where the gelding is in terms of World Hurdle aspirations and he gets a handy 4lbs from both and the yard is also in cracking form. It's a tough race and maybe a watching brief is the safest way to go.
The Druid's Nephew goes in the Hennessy at 15.00 and warmed up for last time out in a hurdle at Wetherby. He fits the trends for the race but the favourite Saphir du Rheu will be a very tough nut to crack. Still The Druid's Nephew has conditions in his favour and makes some appeal at 20/1 so we wouldn't put you off a small ew play.
