Hi everyone,

as I said in the post last night I did think Wadilsafa would win but we didn't put him up as a selection as odds-on favourites are not what we are about. Also as I said he should now go on to win at a higher level and he is entered in the Shadwell Joel Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) at Newmarket on the 28th of this month, so connections obviously agree. We will take another look at him in the context of the field at the time.

We have a selection from Ayr for tomorrow.

Good luck,
The team at Cleeve

3.25 Yarmouth 1m6f (1m6f17y) Dan Hague - Betting On The Rails Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-100)

Selections:

NO SELECTION

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) Uber Cool – 82
2) Elegiac – 78
3) Magellan – 76

Race analysis:
This is a very poor Class 2 and I could not see value in any of the runners so we will leave this race alone.

Uber Cool is dropping back down to his preferred trip after his 7th to Pallasator at Royal Ascot. Since then he has had an 89-day break which is of a concern as he was relatively busy earlier in the season.

Elegaic may need to drop a few pounds in the weights before winning again and the yard although not cold are running below par at the moment.

Magellan is stepping up in the trip and wears cheekpieces for the first time. He does tend to run prominently but he may not have his own way with a couple of other runners that like to make the pace. It’s definitely not a race I want to get involved in, so no selection.

3.35 Ayr 1m2f William Hill Doonside Cup Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+)

Selections:

Air Pilot 2 points to win at 7/2 generally

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) Air Pilot – 100
2) Dubai Horizon – 88
3) Escalator – 87

Race analysis:
Escalator won nicely in a Class 2 at Goodwood last time and has gone up in the weights accordingly. He does need to improve by several pounds more to win this and that looks beyond him.

Dubai Horizon has won his last two and is a course and distance winner, and he won at this level at Sandown last time. That win has resulted in a rise of seven pounds for a half-length win which makes this tough, although I think there is a bit more improvement to come. I think he could well finish runner-up to our selection.

Air Pilot is now nine years old but has been competing in Group races and won both a Group 2 and a Group 3 earlier in the season on heavy going. A return to ground with plenty of cut should see him return to the winner’s enclosure in this lower class race.

3.45 Pontefract 6f EBF "Breeders' Series" Fillies' Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-100)

Selections:

NO SELECTION

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) Maid In India – 91
2) Gorgeous Noora – 90
3) Zip Along – 84

Race analysis:
This should be between the top two, but I could not separate them and there are other threats, so no bet.
