Cleeve members selections – 20th September

Hi everyone,

No selections to report on, but we were spot on to give the favourite High End a body swerve in the 3:05 at Yarmouth as the race was won by the rank outsider Zack Mayo at 8/1 under an enterprising ride by Silvestre De Sousa.

We have analysed 3 the qualifying races running tomorrow and come up with one selection for you...

Good luck,
The team at Cleeve

3.05 Sandown 1m3½f (1m3f104y) Dan Hague, Yarmouth's Number 1 Bookmaker Handicap (Class 2) (3yo 0-100)

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) D’bai – 87
1) Kool Kompany – 87
1) Richard Pankhurst – 87

Race analysis:
I think this will be won be one of the joint top rated (I can’t remember ever having three joint top rated before), so far too difficult to split them… no bet.

3.50 Yarmouth 1m2f (1m2f23y) EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies' Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+)

Selections:

Titi Makfi 2 points win at 3/1 Bet365 and Corals

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) Titi Makfi – 117
2) Flood Warning – 110
3) Indulged – 104

Race analysis:
Beautiful Morning is interesting dropping in class, but the stable is out of sorts so she may have to settle just for a place. I think it will be difficult for her giving weight away to all.

High Hopes comes from another stable which is going through a cold spell, and although she placed in a Listed race last time it is hard to see her winning this.

Indulged has Ryan Moore booked which is a plus, but James Fanshawe is having a poor season by his high standards. Indulged has only won at Class 3 level and this is much more difficult, so even with Ryan Moore riding I think there are others with better chances than her and the chances are she will be over bet anyway.

Flood Warning comes from the red hot, Clive Cox stable, which has a 50% strike rate in the last two weeks. Flood Warning was second in a Listed race last time but that was back in May. That lay off is of concern as it suggests that there has been some kind of physical problem, so she is best watched at present.

Titi Makfi is very consistent and is a typical Mark Johnston inmate as she runs frequently – this will be her ninth run of the season and she has already won five of her eight starts. She finished second of twenty runners in a tough Class 2 handicap last time out and she gets in here off a nice weight due to her age. If maintaining the form she has already shown she should go very close here.

5.25 Yarmouth 5f (5f42y) Stanley Threadwell Memorial Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-105)

Race Analysis:

Cleeve Top 3 Rated:
1) Dakota Gold – 58
2) Gracious John – 55
3) Jumira Bridge – 52

Race analysis
Gracious John was tempting at the prices, but with only two places it is too much of a risk. Dakota Gold and the newly gelded Jumira Beach are both threats, so no bet.
