as a member of Cleeve Racing, you will know that we have suffered a downturn in form and results over an extended period. This will result in the 2020 Flat season being the first losing season we have suffered since our launch in 2011, and it may well be that 2020 is our first losing year in the same period.
We understand that its no consolation, but we have to put things into perspective. Yes, we have had a terrible Flat season and a terrible year to date but we have been publishing the results on the site since November 2014 (we proofed to Racing Index prior to this) and are still almost 400 points in profit which equates to 70 points profit a year even with the awful run we've had.
At first, we believed that it was just the nature of racing and cyclical, so winners and profits would revert to the mean but it just didn't happen, so before the lockdown, we recognised that we needed to do something serious. As a company, we understand the need to evolve and provide our members with a progressive and profitable service.
Andrew who has led the team since launch in 2011 is to take a temporary step back to recharge his batteries but is not leaving the team. We will be updating you all on Andrew's ongoing involvement in due course.
We have not been sat on our laurels and we have been in discussions with a number of well-established tipsters over the last few months.
We are pleased to announce that we have now succeeded in recruiting one of these to lead the team into the 2020 Jumps season.
John has just completed a 2-year contract with a high profile tipping brand which resulted in their members banking a significant profit. In 2 years with them his vital statistics were:
- 1778 selections
- 346 wins
- 118 places
- 26% win/place strike rate
- 217 points profit
- £4,451 (£20 stakes)
We have published his results on the website. There is a new tab on the Proofed Results page showing his last 2 years results. We have only just been able to this due to contractual reasons.
John providing a new daily service starting October 1st. This new service will run alongside the normal Cleeve service until the last day of the 2020 Flat season which will be Champions Day at Ascot on October 19th.
John's approach differs from the current Cleeve service as he will be providing selections on most days (if there is no worthwhile betting opportunity there will be no bet) and his selections will not be limited to turf Class 2 races and above, he also operates a slightly different staking system.
This new service is included in your membership so you don't have to do anything.
Cleeve Ratings service
We are also working towards providing a ratings based service going forward. In the short term, we will continue to publish our ratings for all Class 2 and above as we know that plenty of members use these for their own betting purposes.
We have been working behind the scenes with developers to leverage the success of the ratings and we hope to be publishing details of exactly how the new service will operate in the near future.
We wanted to give you a heads up on the future direction of Cleeve and hope that you will join us in welcoming John on board.
So to summarise
• The new daily service will begin on the 1st of October (posted the night before)
• Selections will be posted as normal on the night before racing
• Email alerts will be sent out as normal when selections are posted.
• The current Cleeve service will run alongside the new daily service until 19th of October.
• The selections posts will be in the same format as the current Cleeve selections.
• John will advise odds and staking.
• All results will be published to both advised prices and BSP.
• The Cleeve ratings will be published for all Class 2 and above races.
We fully understand that these changes may initially take you out of your comfort zone, but we have to adapt to the current circumstances and ensure we are providing a profitable service for members. This has been a tough time for Cleeve and we feel that these changes will lead to a marked improvement in our profitability.
If you have any questions please drop us a line and we will answer any questions that you may have.
