Highlight of the week

Again Andrew had a profitable week, albeit a small one but Saturday was a good day with Ilaraab winning well and 2 more places from the other 3 selections giving 7.9 points profit on the day.

As we said last week it's sod's law that when Andrew is going to be taking a break he starts to turn things around. More of this below.

Low point of the week

The two low points of the week for me were Franconia who was just very disappointing and it looks like they may need to go back to the drawing board with her.

Ainsdale was ridden up with the pace and was the only prominent runner anywhere near at the finish... the first 3 home were all ridden patiently.

Weekly Overview

We thought this would be a good time to underline to everyone how the service will operate going forward when the Flat season proper closes for us this weekend...

As you know Andrew has been our chief tipster for Cleeve for 9 years now and he has never experienced a poor run of form like the one that we have all endured.

Andrew puts in a serious amount of work into analysing races and making selections, and given the nature of racing has not been able to get much time for a break in the last 9 years. He has generated profits for members every season and every year (apart from 2020) so nobody can argue that he has done anything less than an absolutely sterling job for all of us.

Having to deal with a poor run like this is not mentally easy especially when people are relying on you to pick winners, and it's easy to end up losing your way somewhat and doubt yourself.

We have discussed it at length with Andrew and agreed that he needs and deserves a break (he is not trained by Mark Johnston after all!) so he will be taking a sabbatical over the next few months to allow him to recharge his batteries and come back - which he definitely will be - refreshed and ready to go. Andrew's last set of selections will be this Saturday at Ascot for  Champions day.

Andrew will still be involved in the background supporting John who will be stepping up after his settling in period. John will be covering the races that he is currently focussing on as well as the Class 2+ races Andrew normally covers. We will still be providing the ratings for those Class 2+ races as normal.

This means that you will still get the original Cleeve service, the new daily service, eyecatchers and Class 2+ race ratings... all as part of your current membership.

John has now settled in nicely and is looking forward to providing you with a profitable service whilst Andrew gets a well-earned rest from the front line. Andrew is going to focus on improving the ratings algorithm and we'll keep you updated with progress.

We hope you'll join with us and wish Andrew all the best on his 'temporary goodbye' (it is definitely not au revoir!), and we look forward to continuing to provide you with a top-class service.

Best wishes
The team at Cleeve
