We are back with two eye catchers who we think can pay their way in 2020 on the flat.
Our approach will be to look for winners at class three to seven. We feel that races at these levels will be less competitive but still provide value in regard to odds available.
So take a look below at the first two horses to follow. We will be providing previews of each race that the eye-catchers are running in and whether they should be backed.
The team at Cleeve
3rd June, 6.00 Yarmouth, class five handicap over seven furlongs on firm going.
Casina Di Notte is a six-year-old bay gelding, out of Casamento by Nightswimmer (Noverre). Trained by Marco Botti.
Casina Di Notte has had eight runs on turf, winning twice and finishing second on two occasions. His form on turf is much better than on the all weather, where he went fourteen runs without a win.
His last effort was solid enough over a distance likely short of his best and off a mark of 72 can win his share of low-grade handicaps over one mile.
3rd July, 5.20 Hamilton, Class 3 handicap over one mile and half a furlong on soft going.
Makthecat is a four-year-old bay gelding by Makfi out of Troiecat (One Cool Cat). He is trained by Karl Burke.
Makthecat has had three runs on turf, his best finish being a third place. He has won on the all weather and has also finished second from three runs on the surface.
His last two efforts have been solid enough. He faded in the final furlong of his run at Hamilton last time out. His previous effort at Pontefract had worked out well and his handicap mark of 72 looks workable in class three and four handicaps this season.
