15th June, 4.55 Chester, Liverpool Gin Handicap (Class 4) (4YO+ 0-85) 6F
Quick Look drops to class four for this sprint handicap at Chester. Kieran O’Neill rides for the erstwhile Mick Easterby.
In the eye catchers post that mentioned Quick Look we said that the horse would be suited by some give in the ground. We also thought that Quick Look would be best suited by stepping up to seven furlongs. The distance of this race is six furlongs and seventeen yards and will be run on soft ground. In his last run on the fifth of June at Ripon in a class three six furlongs handicap, Quick Look was slowly away but did run on to be a 1 1/4 lengths sixth to Hyperfocus.
Quick Look is drawn one in this race which can be a disadvantage over six furlongs at Chester, as the rails are positioned at the start to best suit those running from stalls two and three. As he likes to be held up in his races and that this race has a number of prominent runners, we feel that he may struggle to be able to challenge on such a tight course.
Therefore no bet here and we will wait until Quick Look runs over seven furlongs or at least over a stiff six.
NB – If Quick Look were to drift to a price of 8/1 or better a small each way bet would be advised on value grounds.
