We have a couple of our eyecatchers running at Doncaster and Carlisle on Wednesday. So take a look at our analysis to see whether we think either of them rate a bet. Let's hope we can keep up the good form of a couple of weeks ago which were our last runs... we had two winners from just two runners!
The team at Cleeve
2.15 Carlisle, racingtv.com Nursery Handicap (Class 5) (0-75 2YO) 5F 193Y
Ralphy Boy Two steps back in distance after winning for us over seven furlongs on this course in late August. He ran on well after being held up and he came with a withering late run to cut down the favourite that day. That was only his fourth career run and he did run a bit green. However, he looks as if he still looks as though has plenty of progression to come.
Mick Channon sends the top weight up all the way from the south so he must be expected to go well. There may also be some unexposed types at the level in the field, as with most nursery handicaps. Ralphy Boy Two has 9st 5lbs to carry here and the step back in distance may not be ideal. At a price of 6/1 he is still a bit of value, so we will step in.
4.10 Doncaster, British EBF Premier Fillies Handicap (Class 2) (0-100 3YO+) 1M 3F 197Y
Asoof has to carry top weight here in his comeback race against only three rivals. His trainer, Saeed Bin Suroor, is in good from at present and Cieran Fallon takes the ride and a valuable 5lbs off his back. From his six career runs Asoof has won three times and has placed twice. Asoof is expected to have a fruitful autumn campaign before returning to Dubai for the winter.
Among his rivals in the race is Litigious for the Gosden and Dettori team. Asoof has to give Litigious 10lbs here which is a big ask. As Asoof may need the race and the small field may mean the race could turn into a sprint, his price of 5/2 is not considered value as a win only bet. A price of 4/1 or bigger would be what we would be consider value.
