Eyecatchers

Hi there, we have an eyecatcher running on Saturday at Kempton Park in what is expected to be very competitive in a handicap hurdle. The horse in question looks as though it has been aimed specifically aimed at this after Sandown's Imperial Cup meeting had been abandoned.

Good luck

2.40 Kempton, Paddy Power Silver Plate Handicap Hurdle. (Class 2) (0-140 4YO+) 2M 5F Good to Soft.

Selections:

Tamaroc Du Mathan - 1 point each way at 5/1 BOG with Skybet and Betfair (6 places 1/5 odds)

Race Analysis:

Tamaroc Du Mathan is a five-year-old gelding trained by Paul Nicholls and ridden by Harry Cobden. He has had three runs in the UK over hurdles at two miles after winning races in his nativeĀ  France.

He now steps up a further five furlongs in this race, which is expected to suit. He was an eye catching fifth last time out in the Betfair Handicap Hurdle at Newbury on February 8th behind stablemate Pic D’Orhy.

Tamarac Du Mathan was fancied by connections for The Imperial Cup at Sandown last week before the meeting was abandoned. Paul Nicholls decided to then miss Cheltenham with the horse and go for this race instead. It is hard to pick any of his Kempton rivals out especially as it is a competitive handicap hurdle. However, Tamarac Du Mathan is expected to be very competitive in this and to continue to improve and make further progress up the ratings.
