We had three profitable days out of four over the course of the festival, we didn’t manage to find a winner on the 3rd day, but had a couple of  ew places from our 3 selections so didn’t do too much damage, but 2.40 points did go South.

Day 1 saw us have a winner with Alfred Boucher winning very comfortably at 11/2 (BOG). He cruised into contention  at the furlong pole and looked like he would win as he wanted, but for one horrible moment he looked like he was going to dog it and not go past the long-time leader, but William Buick started to get serious and made his mind up for him and he ended up winning by a comfortable 3 lengths.

This was buttressed by Sandbeck running into a place at 9/1 (BOG), so 2 of our 5 selections returned a profit on the day.

Day 2 saw another winner with Adaay in Asia winning at a juicy 11/1 (BOG), he was supposed to run on the  Sunday at Pontefract when he would have been a selection but was an overnight non-runner and instead lined up here in a much more competitive race, so we knew connections must fancy their chances.

Petite Coco (4/1) & Shining Blue (10/1), also ran into places, so 3 of our 6 selections returned a profit on the day.

On Day 3, as we said earlier, we didn’t manage to find a winner but did have ew places with both Amanzoe (10/3) & Golden Voice (13/2 ), so didn’t do too much damage with returns from 2 of just 3 selections, but 2.4 points did go South.

Day 4 saw the best day of the meeting for us  with a winner in Trawlerman (12/1) ridden by Frankie Derrori in the Godolphin white cap. It happened in the ultra-competitive Ebor, the richest handicap in Europe, but on 1st, 2nd… and  3rd glance I definitely thought Alfred Boucher had nutted us on the line! It was a vintage ride by Frankie who kept wide ftom the start to get into the lead where he then set steady fractions, he got absolutely everything out the colt who was headed by 2 of his opponents in the last couple of furlongs and looked beaten.

This was added to by Inverness (12/1) & Lethal Levi (14/1) running into places, so 3 of our 6 selections again turned a profit on the day.

This now makes it 4 months in a row where we have made profit (save a truly spectacular weekend blow out!) with the total currently standing at 99 points, and that includes Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and York’s Ebor festival, three of the most competitive meetings of the season!
