Something for the weekend part two – Notebook horses w/e 11th September

Dinkum Diamond - Trainer: Henry Candy - watch race video here
Ran a really good race when third behind  Can' change It at Doncaster over one mile on Saturday where it looked as if the trip didn’t really suit. He was a bit keen in the first couple of furlongs but despite this travelled nicely into the race and was actually in front with a hundred yards to go before being grabbed by a typical Jamie Spencer last to first ride. He tends to put in his best performances near the back end of the season, and given he now sits 3lbs below his last winning mark if dropped down in trip looks ready to go close soon.

My Cherry Blossom - Trainer: Tim Easterby - watch race video here
Ran in a low grade handicap at Musselburgh and things didn't go her way when finishing fifth. She missed the break and when she cam into the race, she was hung into and forced wide. She has been campaigned exclusively over five furlongs but seems to be crying out for further. Holds an entry in the Two Year Old Trophy so despite still being a maiden connections clearly hold the horse in some regard. She is bound to shake off her maiden tag in the not too distant future and I’m hoping a step up to six furlongs or further will bring out the best in her.
Race Type: Any
Distance: 6f
Ground Type: Good to Soft - Good to Firm or All-Weather

Musanaada (3 year old) - Trainer: William Haggas - watch race video here

Made her racecourse debut on the all-weather and showed her greenness missing the break but came onto the bridle and travelled strongly up the back straight. Dane O'Neil took a while to get her to quicken but she's bred for stamina and stayed on really strongly to lead close home and win going away. What she beat that day at Kempton is up for debate however she looks to have bags of scope, interesting to see her tackle twelve furlongs on her race course debut so it looks as if she will improve for further.
Race Type: Any
Distance: 1m4f plus
Ground Type: Any

Belle Mare Plage - Trainer: Stuart Williams - watch race video here
Finishing mid-division at Chelmsford wasn’t too disappointing a run given the seven furlong trip looks far from ideal. The likelihood is that connections have been campaigning her with bringing down her handicap rating and she now resides at an attractive mark of 60 which is 7lbs below her last winning mark. The key is to watch for a drop back in trip to 5 furlongs, along with support in the market it’ll be a good indicator that she’ll do well.
Race Type: Handicaps
Distance: 5f - 6f
Ground Type: Good or Firmer or All-Weather
