Highlight of the week

Diamond Gait was heavily backed into fav (we knew the early prices were far too generous) and won even though he made jumping errors at almost every flight including at the last, but the rallied strongly to take it up close home and was going away at the finish.

Low point of the week

The low point of the week for me was that we had another 3 second places which makes a total of 10 so far this month which is obviously frustrating.... but I guess that's racing!

Weekly Overview

A relatively busy week with 12 selections, but the good thing is we have now seem to have turned the corner and are showing a decent profit of 14 points so far for the month. This includes a total of 10 seconds so far so it could have been so much better but we are happy that things are now going the right way.

please note we have now amalgamated all the month's selections into one set of results as John has now been officially putting up selections since the 1st October.

Finally a word from Andrew who as you know is taking a well-earned sabbatical after over 9 years. Andrew will be back when he has recharged his betting batteries.

As you are probably aware I have decided to take a much-needed break from tipping for Cleeve, and both mentally and physically I believe I need it.

After multiple winning years, this year has been a struggle and the hardest thing has been keeping to the strategies that have served us for well for many years when results are not going your way. It gives me huge pleasure to provide members with winners and I have been lucky enough to do that since our launch in 2011 and we've managed to collect a couple of awards along the way. But it is the best decision for all parties that I take a break and hopefully come back refreshed at some stage to pick up where I usually am... picking consistent winners.

I would like to thank Mark and Nick for allowing me to take a break and wish them continued success with Cleeve Racing and our new Racing Club venture.

I am leaving you in the able hands of John, who has already started providing selections this month and I wish him all the success in the world. If I was to give John any advice it would be stick to what he does best, as he has proven success doing that and had a great winner yesterday in Diamond Gait, which came from the back to win at Stratford advised at 9/1 – well done John!

I hope you and your families stay well through these strange times and remember that we will get through this and hopefully come out the other side stronger and better people as a result.

I look forward to being able to attend racing again and will hopefully get to Cheltenham on Gold Cup day next year!

Best regards

The Week Ahead

As you all know John is now providing daily selections (not necessarily every day as if there is no betting opportunity he will not be having a selection for the sake of it) so this Week Ahead section will be removed going forward.

Best wishes,
The team at Cleeve

P.S. Our Flat Season finished after Champion's Day at Ascot on 17th October and our Jumps Season officially starts with the Paddypower meeting in mid-November.

John will still be providing the daily service but not all his selections will be over the jumps. We will publish the ratings for all Class 2+ races as normal.
