Highlight of the week

Nothing to report really... although I was at Newmarket and my friend's wife managed to pick 11 winners in 3 days... she offered her services to Cleeve, but herm record is patchy to say the least!

Low point of the week

The loss of a top-class horse such as Beat the Bank who won 9 of 18 races including last year's Queen Anne at Royal Ascot overshadows the week, and our thoughts are with connections.

Weekly Overview

It was a really frustrating week with nearly half of our selections hitting the frame but none managing to get their noses in front. To add insult to injury, recent selections that were beaten did manage to win this time around such as Vale of Kent, Piovine and Beat the Bank (a very sad loss to racing... click here for tribute).

Such a loss makes it seem a bit hardnosed to talk about weekly profit and loss, but we're here to provide you with a service and as always racing moves on...

It's a game of small margins and although Saturday was a bit of a nightmare day for us wiping out our hard-earned monthly profit, results show clearly we are there or thereabouts, so it's all about showing a bit of patience rather than tinkering with something we know works, in reaction to recent results.

The Week Ahead

A slightly quieter week in store for us... we will be looking at the following races this week:

Friday - Newbury 15.05 and 15.40, Pontefract 20.00 & Hamilton 19.40 and 20.10

Saturday - Newbury, Newmarket, Ripon & Market Rasen (9 races)

As always will be emailing you the night before with analysis, ratings and any selections.

Best wishes,
The team at Cleeve
